How to join the Denmark journal

Sean is spending 85 days in Denmark and keeping a journal of it — written entries, photos, videos, and a map of where each one was written. It's private, so you need an account. Here's how to get one. It takes about two minutes.

  1. 1

    Open the sign-up page

    Go to sign-up

Works on a phone, tablet, or computer — whatever you prefer.

  2. 2

Fill in your name, email, and a password

Use your real first and last name, so everyone knows who's commenting. Your password needs to be at least 8 characters.

  3. 3

    Enter the family invite code

Sean sends this to you separately — it isn't written on this page. Type it exactly as he sent it, all lowercase and with no spaces, then press Request access.

  4. 4

You'll land on a waiting screen

This is normal, and it means everything worked. Sean approves each person by hand, so there's a short wait — you don't need to do anything else. No confirmation email will arrive; there isn't one.

  5. 5

Come back once Sean says you're in

Return to this site and sign in with the email and password you just chose. That's it — you'll see the journal.

Save your password somewhere

Let your phone remember it, or write it down. If you do lose it there's a Forgot your password? link on the sign-in page that emails you a reset link — but having it saved is a lot less hassle.

What you can do once you're in

Read every entry, browse all the photos and videos in the gallery, see the map of where things happened, and leave comments. Sean writes the entries — you're there to read along and chime in.

If something goes wrong

“Wrong invite code”
Check for a capital letter or a stray space at the end. Copy it straight from Sean's message if you can.
“That email already has an account”
You've signed up before. Go to the sign-in page instead of signing up again.
You've been waiting a while
Sean approves each person by hand, and he's several hours ahead in Denmark. Give him a nudge if it's been a day.
You forgot your password
Use the Forgot your password? link and we'll email you a link to choose a new one. It works once and expires after an hour, so open it soon — and open it on the same device you asked from. Check your spam folder if it doesn't show up.
